England's Stove Works is recalling Smartstove freestanding pellet stoves, model number 55-SHSSP01 with serial numbers 101 through 2513. The cast iron stoves, which are approximately 36 inches high, 24½ inches wide, and 24 inches deep with a black satin finish and arched glass door, pose a laceration hazard because smoke can accumulate inside the firebox due to ash buildup, which can cause the glass door to break.
Consumers with affected stoves should stop using the unit immediately and contact England's Stove Works to receive a free repair kit and installation instructions. The model and serial numbers can be found on a black plate on the top right corner of the back of the stove.
