Michaels is recalling Ashland brand holiday paper boxes because mold can be present on them, which poses a risk of respiratory or other infections for people with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs, or a mold allergy. The recalled boxes are decorative gift and storage cardboard boxes covered in decorative paper, available in nine themes with various embellishments like ribbon and burlap. They came in three shapes (circle, square, and rectangle) and three sizes (small, medium, and large), and are identified by SKU numbers 434397, 434398, 434399, 434458, 434459, 434460, 434465, 434467, 434468, 434470, 434471, 434472, 434474, 434475, 434476, 434479, 434480, 434481, 484483, 434484, 434485, 434487, 434488, 434489, 434490, 434492, and 434493. The "Ashland" brand name and SKU number appear on a label on the underside of each box.
According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the paper boxes and return them to any Michaels store for a full refund.
