What happened

IKEA is recalling HYBY and LOCK ceiling lamps because the plastic retaining clips that hold the glass shades in place can break, causing the glass shades to fall and create a laceration hazard. The HYBY model has a 15-inch frosted glass shade decorated with four opaque concentric lines and holds two light bulbs, while the LOCK model has a 10-inch frosted glass shade and holds one light bulb. The type numbers are T1011 for the HYBY and T0201 for the LOCK, which can be found on a label attached to the lamp housing.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ceiling lamps and uninstall them. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should return the lamps to any IKEA store for a full refund.
