What happened

Varaluz has recalled all Longfellow model 3- and 4-light fixtures due to improper wiring that can cause the insulation to melt, potentially creating fire and shock hazards. The affected fixtures are black metal units with clear or frosted glass shades on four sides and can be mounted on walls or ceilings. The recalled model numbers are 731KL04EB, 731KM03EB, 731P03EB, 331P03BL, 731P04EB, and 331P04BL, which appear on labels located on the canopy of ceiling-mounted fixtures or the backplate of wall-mounted fixtures.

Consumers who own these fixtures should stop using them immediately until replacement units become available. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should contact Varaluz to request either a replacement light fixture or a refund.
