What happened

United States Stove Company has recalled its HomComfort 2400 24K BTU Pellet Heater/Stoves because the internal fire box baffle can degrade and overheat, creating a fire hazard. The recalled units are gray steel and polycarbonate window-mounted heaters measuring approximately 21.5 inches high by 24.5 inches deep by 23 inches wide. The recall affects specific serial number ranges: 0451 through 4420, 5681 through 5890, and 6301 through 6310, with the serial number and firm name printed on the faceplate attached to the front bottom of the unit.

Consumers with affected units should immediately unplug the stoves and stop using them. The manufacturer will provide either $868 cash or $1,200 credit toward the purchase of any United States Stove Company product in exchange for return of the circuit board and serial face plate.
