What happened

Philips Consumer Electronics Company and the CPSC have announced a recall of Model MX920 Philips Magnavox home audio theatre systems due to a fire hazard. The speaker voice coil in these systems can overheat and lead to a speaker fire. The recalled system includes a surround sound stereo receiver, a subwoofer, a center channel speaker, two surround-sound speakers, and two front loudspeakers. The model number MX920 is prominently displayed on the front of the receiver cabinet and on a rear label in the upper left corner of the back of the receiver.

Consumers with the recalled MX920 system should stop using it immediately and call Philips for instructions on receiving a free repair.
