SportsPlay Equipment has recalled multiple playground models due to handrails, posts, and frames containing high levels of lead paint that violates federal lead paint bans. The affected playgrounds include various Tot Town models, Tea Cup Merry Go Round, 8' Web Climber, Rope Wall, and Aztec Climber models in different configurations. Lead paint is hazardous to young children if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.
According to the recall, consumers should stop using the playground immediately if the painted parts have chipped off. Consumers with the recalled playgrounds have been directly contacted regarding this recall and will receive free replacement parts.
