Christine full-size wooden baby cribs
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
C & T International Inc. is recalling approximately 800 full-size wooden baby cribs due to a hazard with their side rails. The side rails can loosen and separate, creating gaps larger than 2-3/8 inches between the slats, which poses a risk of strangulation if a baby's head becomes entrapped. Additionally, babies could suffer serious injuries from falling out of the crib. The recall affects two models: the Tracy model (item 800), available in white, natural, whitewash, or cognac finishes, and the Christine model (item 210), available in white, natural, or whitewash finishes. These cribs were sold by juvenile product stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida between February 1994 and March 1996 for approximately $350. The manufacturer is aware of five reports of missing or loose side rails, though no injuries have been reported.
Consumers with one of these cribs should stop using it immediately. Affected consumers should call C & T International toll-free at (888) 470-1260 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday to obtain free replacement rails. The manufacturer's item number can be found on the inside headboard of the crib to confirm whether the crib is part of the recall.
