Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Cannondale is recalling approximately 15,000 pairs of C-Soles cycling shoes sold nationwide from early 1997 through April 1997 for $59.99 to $79.99 per pair. The shoes have a defect in which the cleats can pull out of the sole, potentially causing a cyclist's foot to slip off the pedal and resulting in injury. The company has received about 35 reports of cleats pulling out, with some minor injuries reported.

Cannondale dealers will provide a free upgrade by installing a thin metal backing plate inside the shoe under the insole to provide a firmer attachment for the cleat. Consumers with questions or who need to locate the nearest Cannondale dealer can call Cannondale toll-free at 800-BIKE-USA.
