What happened

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Target Stores are recalling approximately 48,000 "Inflatable Snoopy Plastic Christmas" children's toys sold nationwide between October and December 1994 for $1.99 each. The toys come in three styles: a green punching bag, a red ball, and a green or blue rattle-shaped toy, all featuring Snoopy and containing a ringing ball inside. The recall was initiated after one child was found with the inflator plug, which detaches from the toy, in their mouth. Although no injury occurred, the detached plug presents a potential choking hazard to young children.

According to the recall notice, affected consumers should take the toys away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. For additional information, consumers can call the CPSC at (800) 638-2772 or write Target Stores at 33 South Sixth Street, Minneapolis, MN 55440-1392, Attention Quality Assurance, CC 13-B.
