What happened

RadioShack has recalled its 13.8V DC Power Supplies (catalog numbers 22-507 and 22-508) manufactured between August 2004 and January 2008 due to incorrect internal wiring that creates electrocution and fire hazards. You can identify recalled units by checking the date code on the back of the power supply—the format is MMAYY (month and year). Power supplies bearing a green dot on both the product and packaging have already been repaired and are not part of this recall.

If you own one of the recalled power supplies, you should unplug it immediately and bring it to any RadioShack store for a free repair. Registered owners will receive a mailed notice about the recall.
