What happened

Intermatic is recalling the DT27 digital self-adjusting timer, packaged as either the "DT27C Heavy Duty Digital Timer" or the "DT27CL Time All® Digital Lamp and Appliance Self-Adjusting Timer," with a date code of "04B." The timer is white with a rounded top and measures 3 7/8" tall by 2 3/4" wide by 1 5/8" deep, with "Intermatic" molded on the front and the model number and date code printed on the back. The recalled timers could have been wired incorrectly, posing an electrical shock hazard to consumers.

Consumers who own an affected timer should stop using it immediately and unplug it before checking the model number and date code on the back. According to the recall, affected consumers should contact Intermatic to return the timer and obtain a free replacement.
