Intermatic Inc. is recalling Electroluminescent Night Lights with model numbers GN172 and GN165 because they can short-circuit, creating shock and burn hazards. The GN172 model is gray, approximately 1-1/2 inches square by 1/4 inch thick with two metal prongs, while the GN165 model is gray, approximately 4-3/8 inches tall, 1-5/8 inches wide, and 1/4 inch thick with two metal prongs. Both models have "Intermatic Inc." and "Made in Taiwan" molded on the back.
Consumers with these nightlights should stop using them immediately, turn off the power, and remove them from the wall socket. The lights can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund, or consumers can mail them to Intermatic Inc. at 7777 Winn Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081, Attn: Larry Kubisiak, for either a full refund or a replacement nightlight of equal value. Intermatic will provide consumers with $2 for shipping and handling.

Also molded on the back of the nightlights are the words, "Intermatic Inc." and "Made in Taiwan."
