Cooper Lighting is recalling Metalux fluorescent shop lights Model 9240 with date codes produced between December 1, 2006 and September 14, 2007. The lights pose an electrical shock hazard when both prongs on the electrical cord plug are touched simultaneously while lamps are installed in the fixture. The model number and date code can be found on the product packaging and on labels attached to the fixture housing.
Consumers who have an affected light should stop using it immediately and uninstall it according to instructions posted at www.cooperlighting.com. The fixture should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund or credit.
