International Home Fashions and Bilt-Safe Technologies are recalling "Classic Beautyrest" electric throws measuring 52 inches by 62 inches due to a fire hazard. When these 100% acrylic throws become bunched, folded, or tucked, they can overheat and cause smoldering, melting, fires, and burn injuries. The recalled throws have model number BST-06-THR and date codes ranging from B00106 through B36506, both of which are printed on the care label sewn into the throw.
Consumers who own these electric throws should immediately stop using them. Because the firm is out of business, no remedy is available. The record states that affected consumers should destroy or discard the recalled throws and should not return them to the retailer where they were purchased.
