Various Polly Pocket dolls and accessories with magnets
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Mattel has recalled Polly Pocket play sets because small magnets measuring 1/8 inch in diameter can become loose from the dolls' hands and feet, as well as from plastic clothing, hairpieces, and other accessories. These magnets are used to help attach pieces to the dolls or doll houses. If swallowed by young children, a single magnet poses a hazard, but multiple magnets are particularly dangerous because they can attract each other inside the stomach and intestines, potentially causing perforation or blockage, which can be fatal.
The recall affects Polly Pocket play sets manufactured on or before November 1, 2006. Consumers who own recalled products should immediately remove the toys from children's access. According to the record, affected consumers should contact Mattel to receive a voucher for a replacement toy of their choice, up to the value of the returned product. The model number can be found printed on the bottom of the largest pieces; if you cannot locate a model number, you should contact Mattel to determine whether your product is part of the recall.
