Sherwin-Williams is recalling Thermo-Tec Hi-Heat aerosol coating cans because they can over-pressurize and explode, which has caused serious facial injuries. The recalled product is an 11-ounce aerosol can used to color and protect automotive exhaust wrap. The can is mostly blue with orange and yellow flames, has an aluminum-colored cap, and displays "HI-HEAT COATING 2000°F" in large white letters on the front. The part number #12002 appears above the UPC, and the date code #B1815 is written on the bottom of the can.
If you have one of these cans, you should not handle it and should contact Sherwin-Williams immediately. A company representative will be sent to your location within 48 hours to safely collect the recalled cans at no cost to you. Sherwin-Williams will send you a $15.00 check for each recalled can that is collected.
