Gander Mountain is recalling 2008 model GMT101 and GMT103 Hang-On Fixed Position Treestands due to a fall hazard. The clasp on these treestands may open unexpectedly if the strap is fastened incorrectly, which could cause the treestand and user to fall to the ground. The recalled treestands can be identified by wire mesh on the base of the platform to the top of the footrest, a Gander Mountain logo on the front of the seat, and a camouflage seat pattern branded "AP" and "REALTREE." The GMT101 model has "Steel Hang-On With Foot Rest" printed in large bold print on the box exterior, while the GMT103 has "Large Steel Hang-On With Foot Rest" printed on the box exterior. This recall does not affect 2009 year models of the GMT101 and GMT103.
Consumers who own a recalled treestand should immediately stop using it and return it to Gander Mountain. According to the recall, affected consumers can receive a refund, exchange it for a 2009 model, or obtain store credit.
