Tap Machine Inc. is recalling sake warmers that can unexpectedly spray hot sake on users during operation, creating a burn hazard. The recalled units are counter-sized machines approximately 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep by 19 inches high, designed to warm sake to between 115 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit for use in restaurants, bars, or homes. The units feature a front-mounted spigot and use either an external 18-liter bag-in-box reservoir or a three-liter refillable plastic reservoir placed on top of the machine. The recalled models are identified by model number SM05 followed by serial numbers 1001 through 3074, which appear on the left side of the units.
Consumers who own affected sake warmers should immediately stop using them. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should return the units to Tap Machine Inc. for a full refund.
