What happened

DEWALT is recalling certain cut-out tools due to a potential shock hazard. The affected tools are yellow and black with model number DW660 on the nameplate. These tools were manufactured between January 2006 and September 2006 and have date codes ranging from 200601 to 200639 on the nameplate. Tools with a "V" stamped on the nameplate are not affected by this recall. The hazard exists because the internal cord wire in these units could become damaged, which could expose consumers to electric shock.

If you own an affected tool, you should stop using it immediately and contact DEWALT to find the nearest service center. DEWALT will provide a free inspection and repair of the tool if necessary.
