What happened

Etón Corp. is recalling E1XM-model AM/FM/SW/XM-ready portable radios because the battery can overheat and rupture when the AC adapter is used, creating a fire and burn hazard. The affected radios have serial numbers ranging from 3,067 through 5,642, which can be found under the flap on the back of the unit. The silver radio measures approximately 13 inches wide by 7.5 inches high by 2.5 inches deep, with the Etón logo on the bottom left corner and the XM radio logo and "e1" marking on the upper right corner.

Consumers who own one of these recalled radios should stop using it immediately and contact Etón Corp. for either a refund or a replacement product.
