What happened

Whittier Wood Products' GardenWood Furniture Chelsea Pub Stools (model numbers 986W and 986KFRS) are being recalled because insufficient glue used to bond the joints could cause the stools to break and collapse during use, posing a fall hazard to consumers. The affected stools have 30-inch seat heights and were sold either unfinished or with a clear, penetrating oil finish. Stools bearing Lot code #06222005 are not included in this recall.

Consumers with affected stools should contact Whittier Wood Products to receive either a replacement stool or a free, in-home repair kit.

Hazard

The stool is marketed under the brand name of GardenWood Furniture. The recalled pub stools include the Chelsea Pub Stools model numbers 986W and 986KFRS, as indicated on the outside of the box. Both stools are constructed with wood legs, seats, and back-rests. Seat height is 30 inches and was sold both unfinished (W) as well as in a clear, penetrating oil finish (KFRS). Units with Lot code #06222005 are not affected by this recall.
