Honeywell Sensing and Controls is recalling "Snap Action" thermal switches sold under model numbers 2450A, 2455RA, or 2455RM with specific date codes stamped on the sensing surface or end cap. These switches are used in fire or HVAC dampers and heat detectors. The switches could fail to operate in a fire, potentially preventing dampers from closing or preventing heat detectors from alarming.
Affected consumers should contact Honeywell Sensing and Controls to obtain a free replacement switch. The affected date codes are: Z0412 through Z0421, Z0427, Z0429 through Z0437 for models 2455RA and 2450A; and Z0421, Z0427, Z0429 through Z0437 for model 2455RM.

When these switches are used in fire or HVAC dampers and heat detectors, they could fail to operate, causing the damper not to close or causing the heat detector not to alarm, if there is a fire.
Honeywell Sensing and Controls will provide a free replacement switch.
