What happened

Polk Audio LSiW powered subwoofers with specific serial number ranges are being recalled due to a hazard where electrical components can overheat and fail, causing electrical arcing and smoke. The recall affects model LSiW subwoofers in two colors: Ebony enclosure (part number AM8080-A, serial numbers AM808000100 to AM808000597) and Cherry enclosure (part number AM8083-A, serial numbers AM808300100 to AM808300599). The serial number can be found on the bottom back edge of the subwoofer, which measures 16 3/4 inches high by 16 7/8 inches wide by 19 3/8 inches deep and weighs approximately 81 pounds.

If you own an affected subwoofer, you should stop using it and unplug it immediately. Contact Polk Audio's Customer Service department for instructions on how to receive either a replacement subwoofer or a refund.
