Nautilus NT 1020 Exercise Benches

  • Brand Daytona Fitness Co., of Xiamen, China
  • Brand Nautilus Inc., of Vancouver, Wash.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Nautilus Inc. and the CPSC have recalled the Nautilus NT 1020 free-standing exercise bench due to a hazard in which a weld on the bench frame under the seat can crack and separate from the main frame. When this occurs, the bench can collapse, causing the user to fall and suffer injuries. The bench is a white steel base with wheels, a black vinyl bench and back support, and bears "Nautilus" stamping on the front of both the base and back support. A tag on the reverse side of the back support indicates the product was distributed by Nautilus/Schwinn Fitness Group Inc. and made in China.

The recall affects Nautilus NT 1020 benches with specific Production Date Codes: units from 2002 with codes between 1952 and 3652, and units from 2003 with codes between 0013 and 1903. The Production Date Code is located on a sticker at the bottom of the base near the wheels and consists of four digits, with the first three identifying the day and the fourth identifying the year of manufacture. Benches that are white in color and do not have a Production Date Code sticker are also included in this recall. Affected consumers should stop using the exercise bench immediately and contact Nautilus to receive a free repair kit.
