Dive Sticks
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dollar General have announced a recall of dive sticks sold at Dollar General stores due to a hazard of impalement injuries. The recalled dive sticks are hard plastic toys shaped like worms, fish, and seahorses, approximately 7 inches long, with weighted balls on the bottom. The worm sticks come in green with an orange ball or pink with a yellow ball, the fish sticks are pink and yellow or green and orange, and the seahorse sticks are yellow with a blue tail or pink with a yellow tail. Packages are labeled "Sun and Shade" and contain either two worms or three fish or seahorses. Some items are marked "Made in China."
Children can fall or land on these upright dive sticks in shallow water and suffer impalement injuries. The CPSC banned pre-weighted dive sticks in 2001. According to the recall notice, consumers should take these dive sticks away from children immediately and return them to Dollar General stores for a refund or discard them.
