What happened

The Land of Nod is recalling wooden children's chairs because the leg supports can crack and cause the chairs to collapse, potentially resulting in falls. The recalled chairs are round back (item #0409042) and straight back (item #0409102) models, approximately 26 inches high, with a lacquer painted finish in red, light blue, dark blue, pale yellow, or light green. The chairs have a sticker underneath the seat reading either "Made in PROC" or "Made in China" and were intended for children ages 3 to 8.

According to the recall notice, consumers should stop using these chairs immediately and contact The Land of Nod for return instructions. The company is offering an exchange, credit, or refund to affected consumers.

The child's round back (item #0409042) and straight back (item #0409102) wooden chairs have a lacquer painted finish in one of the following colors: red, light blue, dark blue, pale yellow or light green. They are about 26-inches high. Underneath the seat, there is a sticker that reads either "Made in PROC" or "Made in China." No other writing is on the recalled chairs. The item number was used for ordering from the catalog or from the firm's Web site and is not written on the chairs. The chairs are intended for use by children 3 to 8 years old.
