CPSC, E & B Giftware LLC Announce Recall of Universal Electric Outlet Adaptor Plugs

Is my product affected?

Universal Electric Outlet Adaptor Plug

  • Brand E and B Giftware LLC, of Yonkers, N.Y.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Universal electric outlet adaptor plugs sold under the brand names Samsonite, Royal Traveller, American Tourister, and El Portal have been recalled due to a shock hazard. The products, marked "MODEL: 1804" on the bottom, contain three interchangeable plugs housed in a hard plastic case with a knob that extends the plugs for use. The hazard occurs because multiple metal plugs can be extended simultaneously, and if a consumer touches an exposed plug while the adaptor is plugged into an outlet, they can receive an electric shock.

If you own one of these recalled adaptor plugs, you should stop using it immediately and contact E & B Giftware LLC to request either a replacement item of comparable value or a refund.
