What happened

CFM Keanall and the CPSC have recalled certain Great Outdoors Gas Grills with the Horizon Model, specifically model numbers GH450SBP and GH450XBP. These 36,000 BTU grills have a dark blue lid, black plastic side shelves, and a large black front panel with "Horizon" and "Great Outdoors" printed on the control panel. Under certain wind conditions, flames can blow under the control panel and cause overheating or flashbacks that may damage the gas supply hose, creating an uncontrolled flame. Flames may also contact users' hands and cause burns. Grills with a fluorescent "Contains Safety Enhancement" label on the carton are not affected by this recall.

The manufacturer is no longer in business and cannot provide a remedy. According to the recall notice, consumers who own affected grills should discard or destroy the product. To determine if your grill is included in the recall, check for the model number on the CSA approval sticker located on the back of the front panel.
