Polaris 2002 PRO X snowmobiles
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Polaris is recalling certain 2002 and 2003 PRO X snowmobiles because the brake pads may separate from the backing plate, potentially causing brake failure. On two specific model numbers (S02NX4CS and S02NX4CSR), the brake disc rivets may also shear, which could similarly result in brake failure. The affected snowmobiles are the 2002 440 Pro X Liquid, 2002 440 Rolling Chassis, 2002 440 Pro X Fan, 2002 600 Pro X, 2003 440 Pro X Fan (pilot), and 2003 600 Pro X (pilot), which feature red hoods and nose pans with white and blue graphics.
Consumers who own one of these snowmobiles should contact a Polaris dealer to arrange a free replacement of the brake pads and/or brake disc, depending on their specific model. The dealer will have all necessary information about the recall and can perform the needed replacements.
