When one of the front doors is open, children's fingers can become stuck in spaces between hinge parts and be crushed or pinched as the door closes. The recalled units are 42 inches long by 26 3/4 inches wide by 36 inches high, featuring three front doors (one with sliding toddler steps and two with storage drawers), a quilted vinyl changing pad on top with safety straps, and a wall shelf unit. The affected changing tables were manufactured before December 1, 2000.
Consumers who own these changing tables should stop using them immediately and contact Childcraft Education Corp. to receive a free repair kit. Purchasers were notified of the recall by direct mail.
