What happened

Babyliss Pro is recalling model BAB2002BLX hairdryers due to a serious electrocution hazard. These 1875-watt, pistol-shaped hairdryers lack an immersion protection device on the power cord, which creates a risk of electrocution if exposed to water. The model number is printed on the barrel, and the hairdryer has a label reading "BABYLISS 2002BLX" on the side along with a hang tag stating the unit is not equipped with an ALCI or GFCI device. The recalled hairdryers were manufactured in China and are labeled for professional use only.

According to the recall notice, consumers should stop using the hairdryers immediately and return them to Babyliss Pro for a free replacement unit that includes an immersion protection device.
