Black & Decker is recalling certain cordless drill/drivers because the switch can malfunction and overheat, creating a fire hazard. The recalled models include orange drills labeled "Firestorm" or jade-colored drills labeled "Quantum Pro" in 14.4 volt, 15.6 volt, and 18 volt versions. Specific model numbers affected are CD632, HP532, FS1442, Q145, FS1560, FS1802, HP932, and Q185, with particular date code ranges for each model. You can find the model number on the nameplate on the side of the drill and the date code on the bottom of the handle where the battery inserts.
If you own one of these recalled drill/drivers, you should stop using it immediately and remove the battery. Contact Black & Decker to arrange a free repair of your drill.
