Island Soap & Candle Works is recalling candles sold in brown coconut shells due to safety hazards. While burning, pieces of the candle's wick can fall off, and the wick can re-ignite after being extinguished, creating risks of burns and fires. The affected candles feature a single wick surrounded by wax in a coconut shell container with a bottom label indicating they were handmade in Hawaii. These candles were sold in approximately 20 different scents and various sizes ranging from "Mini" to "Large," with some featuring moon and star cutouts around the upper rim.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles. According to the recall notice, affected consumers may return the candles to the store where they were purchased for a full refund, or mail them to Island Soap & Candle Works at 900 Fort Street Mall, Suite #1220, Honolulu, HI 96813 to receive a refund.
