Portable fluorescent lamps
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Luxo Corp. is recalling 18-watt portable fluorescent lamps in models PS355 and PS360 with specific serial number ranges. The ballast, an electrical component in the lamp's arm, can overheat and short-circuit, causing the insulating cover to melt and the lamp to fail. This creates a risk of skin burns to consumers. The PS355 model features a 34-inch swing arm while the PS360 has a 19-inch swing arm, and both have black plastic housings that mount to desks or sit on bases. The recalled lamps may also have been sold under the brand names "Big Dipper" or "Little Dipper." Consumers can identify affected units by checking the silver label on the back of the light bulb cover for a serial number between 198076 and 244871 or between 35500001 and 36003256, along with "MADE IN TAIWAN."
Consumers who own recalled lamps should unplug them and stop using them immediately. Consumers should then contact Luxo to return the lamp and receive a replacement. Luxo will provide a 3-year extended warranty on the replacement lamps from the date of replacement.
