What happened

Blair is recalling three styles of Roman shades—standard, tasseled, and Duppioni—due to strangulation hazards. A child can be strangled by placing their neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the back of the blind, or by pulling the cord out and wrapping it around their neck. The recall affects specific item numbers in various sizes and colors, including standard shades in sizes from 23" X 64" to 48" X 64" in colors like ivory, merlot, and sage; tasseled shades in four sizes in gold and taupe; and Duppioni shades in three sizes in colors including green tea and dusty blue.

Consumers with recalled Roman shades should immediately stop using them and contact the Window Covering Safety Council at (800) 506-4636 or visit www.windowcoverings.org to request a free repair kit.

Hazard

Strangulations can occur when a child places his/her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the blind or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck.
