Overpressure Valves (OPV) used with Buoyancy Control Systems
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Diving Unlimited International Inc. is recalling Buoyancy Control Systems in both jacket and wings styles due to a defective overpressure valve that can stick open, creating a drowning hazard for divers. Because it is difficult to distinguish defective valves from working ones, the recall includes all overpressure valves with red pulls on these devices. The affected products can be identified by the DUI logo printed on the jacket pocket, epaulet, and weight pockets (jacket style) or on the epaulet and weight pockets (wings style), as well as by the letters "DUI" on the permanent hang tags.
Consumers who own these Buoyancy Control Systems should immediately stop using the overpressure valves. According to the recall, affected consumers should contact the DUI dealer where they purchased the product to receive a free replacement valve.
