The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Compaq have announced a recall of AC adapters for notebook computers. The recalled adapters have model series numbers "PPP003SD," "PPP003," or "PP2012," which can be found on the label directly under "Compaq Computer Corporation." These adapters can overheat and pose a fire hazard. The affected adapters were sold individually and bundled with various Compaq notebook models including the Armada M300, Armada 3500, Armada M700, Armada E500s, Armada E500, Prosignia 170, Armada V300, Prosignia 190, Armada 100s, Armada 110, and Notebook 100.

Consumers who have one of the recalled AC adapters should stop using it immediately and contact Compaq to order a free replacement adapter.
