WindowTex is recalling custom-made fabric roller window shades that are raised and lowered by a side-mounted chain. The recalled shades have a steel pin in the idler (the component that connects the shade to the mounting bracket) that can become dislodged, causing the shade to fall from the bracket and potentially injure someone. The affected shades have idlers with model number D15T (used with 1½-inch roller tubes) or model number D20T (used with 2-inch roller tubes).
If you have one of the recalled shades, you should immediately contact the place where you purchased it for instructions on scheduling a free service call to have the idler replaced. You can also contact WindowTex for help identifying your authorized dealer. WindowTex authorized dealers are contacting all known purchasers directly.
