WilliamsRDM has recalled the StoveTop FireStop Microhood, a fire suppression device that mounts under microwave ovens above residential cooktops. The recalled units are model numbers 677-1 (black) and 677-2 (white), measuring approximately 14 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 3 inches high, with "Replace Before" dates between June 2014 and August 2019 (found on the bottom of each unit). The hazard involves the front canister potentially falling from the unit and failing to suppress fires.
Consumers with affected units should contact WilliamsRDM to receive a free inspection kit with instructions and a tool for on-site inspection and repair, or alternatively, consumers can ship their units back to WilliamsRDM for free inspection and repair. The manufacturer is contacting consumers directly regarding this recall.

The recalled product is the StoveTop FireStop Microhood. It is a flame activated, dry chemical powder, fire suppression device that mounts over a residential cooktop stove, underneath a microwave oven. The Microhood units are plastic/metal and come in black and white. They are about 14 inches long and 4 inches wide and 3 inches high. The recalled model numbers are 677-1 (black) and 677-2 (white) with a "Replace Before" date of June 2014 thru August 2019. This date is located on the bottom of each unit.
