System Sensor reflected beam smoke detectors
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
System Sensor has recalled reflected beam smoke detectors, model number BEAM1224S with date codes 2111 through 3053 (manufactured between November 2012 and May 2013). These ivory and black detectors, which measure 10 inches high by 7½ inches wide and were primarily used in commercial buildings, can fail to send a signal to the fire alarm control panel when powered by certain power supplies, preventing the alarm from sounding and occupants from being alerted to a fire.
If you own one of these detectors powered by a power supply not on System Sensor's acceptable list (available on the company's website), you should contact System Sensor to receive a free replacement smoke detector. Detectors used with acceptable power supplies do not need to be replaced. The model number and date code can be found on a label on the back of the detector's cover and on the product's packaging. System Sensor and its distributors are contacting purchasers directly.
