Vornado Air Recalls Electric Space Heaters Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

What happened

Vornado Air is recalling Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex electric space heaters in black and white because the units can overheat, melt, catch fire, and ignite nearby items, creating a fire and burn hazard. The heaters are approximately 10.5 inches high and 10.5 inches wide at the base, narrowing toward the top, with the on/off switch and heat settings on top and a Vornado logo with gray "V" on the front. The recalled units have serial numbers with "1" and "3" as the fourth and fifth digits, which can be found on a silver decal on the bottom of the unit.

If you own an affected heater, you should immediately turn it off and unplug it. Then contact Vornado for instructions on receiving a free replacement unit with free shipping.

The heaters measure about 10.5 inches high, 9 inches deep and 10.5 inches at the base growing narrower at the top. The on/off switch and the high/low heat settings are located on top of the unit. The Vornado logo appears with a gray "V" on the front of the unit. Recalled heaters have the numbers 1 and 3 as the fourth and fifth digits of the serial number. The model and serial numbers appear on a silver decal located on the bottom of the unit.
