What happened

BMC is recalling three bicycle models equipped with full carbon Aprebic bike forks (model ACC-A704DN50B) because the forks can crack or break above the brake mount, creating a fall hazard. The affected bicycles are the Alpenchallenge AC01 105 Tiagra, Alpenchallenge AC01 Rival, Masschallenge MC01 Team, and Urbanchallenge UC01 Alfine 11, in model years 2012 and 2013 (2012 only for Masschallenge). These bicycles come in black and yellow or black and red color combinations, with the fork model number printed behind the top arch and the model year printed on the top tube.

Consumers who own affected bicycles should immediately stop using them and contact their local BMC authorized dealer for instructions on receiving a replacement fork.
