Stromer ST1 electric bicycles
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
BMC is recalling all 2013 Stromer ST1 electric bicycles in both women's and men's models (M33 Elite and P48 Platinum) sold in black, red, or white. These bikes feature an integrated lithium battery in the down tube, a rear hub motor, and a three-button LCD display on the handlebars. The bicycle fork can break, which poses a crash and injury hazard to riders. You can identify a recalled bike by the "Stromer" printing on the top tube, seat, and chain guard, and by checking the fork's serial number etched at the bottom of the rear fork—recalled serial numbers begin with ST1S2F, ST1S2G, ST1S2H, ST1S2I, ST1S2J, ST1S3A, ST1S3B, ST1S3C, ST1S3D, or ST1S3E.
If you own a recalled bicycle, you should immediately stop riding it and take it to an authorized Stromer dealer. The remedy is a free replacement fork that will be installed at no cost to you.
