Square D branded, molded case F and K frame circuit breakers

Schneider Electric is recalling Square D-brand F and K frame circuit breakers because they can fail to trip during an overload, which creates a risk of fire, burn injuries, and electric shock. The recall affects models FA, FH, FI, and FY one-, two-, and three-pole circuit breakers rated 15 to 100 amps, as well as model KI two- and three-pole circuit breakers rated 110 to 250 amps. The F model breakers were manufactured between May 8, 2013 and June 10, 2013 with date codes 13193 through 13241, while K model breakers were manufactured between May 2, 2013 and June 21, 2013 with date codes 13184 through 13255. These breakers have a yellow label displaying "Square D" or the Square D logo, with model information listed on the faceplate.
Consumers should immediately check whether they have the recalled circuit breakers by examining the date code in YYWWD format and model number. If you have uninstalled recalled products, you will receive a replacement. If the breakers are already installed, they will be replaced at no charge with an allowance of up to $300 per site to cover labor costs.
