Nationwide Industries Trident Pool Gate Latches
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Nationwide Industries has recalled Trident Pool Gate Latches in 10" and 20" sizes (available in black or white) because the magnet in the striker portion of the latch can come loose. When this happens, the latch fails to secure the gate properly. The latch body is mounted to a fence post and features a knob and key cylinder on top, while the striker attaches to the gate itself and contains the magnet that engages with the latch body.
Consumers who own these recalled latches should contact Nationwide Industries to request a replacement striker kit. The replacement kit can be installed using a Phillips head screwdriver.

The recalled magnetic gate latches are 10" or 20" models in black or white. They are marked with the "Trident" name and image on the face of the latch body below the key hole. The latch body, which is typically attached to a fence post, contains a knob and a key cylinder on the uppermost portion and a recessed area on the bottom portion designed to engage and retain the striker. The striker, which contains the magnet, is typically attached to the active gate portion of a fence gate assembly, and moves with the gate as it is opened and closed. The Trident Latches are frequently used to secure gates for pools.
