Viking is recalling 42-inch and 48-inch built-in side-by-side refrigerator freezers with in-door water and ice dispensers due to a fire hazard. The recalled units were manufactured between October 2012 and May 2013, and electrical connectors in the refrigerator freezer wiring harness can overheat. The affected models are FDSB5421D and VCSB5421D (42-inch) and FDSB5481D and VCSB5481D (48-inch), available in custom or various colors. The model and serial numbers can be found inside the refrigerator on a label on the ceiling behind the light housing. Serial numbers with the first six digits in the range of 101712 through 052913 (representing manufacture dates from October 17, 2012 through May 29, 2013) are affected.

The first six numbers in the serial number are the manufacture date of the unit in MM/DD/YY format. Both sizes of refrigerator freezers have a serial number/date code range from 101712 through 052913. The model and serial numbers are located inside the refrigerators on a label on the ceiling behind the light housing.
