What happened

Norco has recalled 2011 Havoc bicycles in both 24-inch and 26-inch sizes due to a defect in the frame. The bicycle frames can crack at the joint where the top tube meets the down tube, and if a tube separates, the rider may lose control of the bike, which could result in injury or death. The 24-inch models were sold in semi-matte grey and the 26-inch models in semi-matte red. The affected bicycles have serial numbers beginning with K10DQ, K10FQ, K10IQ, K10KQ, P10K, P10F, or P11B, which can be found stamped on the underside of the bottom bracket below the word "Havoc."

According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle and return it to an authorized Norco dealer for a replacement.
