Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2008-2021 Vision and All American school buses because the seat barrier located behind the driver seat with an integrated 3-point seat belt may have been installed incorrectly and may be missing a reinforcing bracket. In a crash, an improperly installed or incomplete seat barrier may not adequately protect the occupant seated behind it, increasing the risk of injury. These vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 222 regarding school bus passenger seating and crash protection.
Dealers will inspect and properly install the seat barrier, including adding a reinforcing bracket as necessary, at no cost to owners. The recall was expected to begin April 23, 2020.
