2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500; 2019 GMC SIERRA 1500; 2019 CADILLAC CT6
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
General Motors is recalling certain 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac CT6, and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles due to a software error in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). This error can disable the vehicle's Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Antilock Brake System (ABS) without alerting the driver, since the warning lights for these systems will not illuminate even when the systems are not functioning. If a driver operates the vehicle unaware that ESC and ABS are disabled, there is an increased risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM at no charge beginning February 4, 2020. Owners of affected vehicles should contact their brand's customer service: Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020, Cadillac at 1-800-333-4223, or GMC at 1-888-988-7267. Reference GM recall number N192268090 when contacting customer service.
